Mr. and Mrs. Mark Murphy were Vaudevillians who purchased a home on the northeast corner of Shore Road and Bayview Avenue in 1904. This postcard was sent to their neighbor Mr. Charles Buickingham with postmark date March 13, 1913 from Butte, Montana. The message reads, “Greetings from The Murphys Butte Mont.”

With the large population of Irish immigrants working in the mines in Butte, the Murphy's Irish heritage would have helped to make them popular entertainment in the city.
