The 47th Annual Candlelight House Tour: Along the Old Roads returns the first weekend of December, inviting you inside five remarkable homes and one special stop throughout the historic districts of Setauket.

Follow the old roads that have connected this community for generations as you discover distinctive homes, local history, thoughtful design, and the stories held within their walls. Experience Setauket by candlelight on Friday evening, December 4, or join us for a daytime tour on Saturday, December 5.

As the Three Village Historical Society & Museum’s largest annual fundraiser, the Candlelight House Tour helps sustain our educational programs, preservation work, exhibitions, and community outreach throughout the year.

What do ticket purchases go towards?

The Candlelight House Tour is the largest fundraiser of the Three Village Historical Society & Museum, supporting operational expenses, upkeep of the historic 1805 house museum, caring for our archives & collections, and providing educational outreach programs throughout the year.

How do we get tickets?

Where does the tour take place?

The Candlelight House Tour changes location every year to include unique stops - the 2026 tour takes place across the Historic Districts of Setauket... Along the Old Roads.

How many stops are there on the tour? Is there an order we have to visit in?
There are 5 private homes and 1 special stop on the tour. Guests are given a map with all the addresses in the ticket booklet. You can visit the stops in any order.

Friday evening tour is 3 hours and Saturday tour is 5 hours.

Breakfast ticket holders get an extra hour with homes opening at 10 am.

Are tickets digital or printed?

Tickets are physical and must be picked up in person and shown at every stop along the tour.

Homes can only be visited once each.

At TVHS Headquarters (93 N. Country Rd., East Setauket):

• Friday, November 27th and Saturday, November 28th: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Monday, November 30th - Thursday, December 3rd: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

• Friday, December 4th: (day of tour) 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 5th: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

At The Winter Market at Setauket Neighborhood House (95 Main Street, Setauket):

Sunday, November 29th: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

At Elaine's Restaurant (Breakfast + Tour Ticket holders only - 316 Main Street, Setauket):

Saturday, December 5th: 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- NOTE: Open seating, buffet style - open from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m.

Last year, we were honored to dedicate the Candlelight House Tour to Janette Handley, whose decades of service to TVHS, and especially to this event, helped it flourish.

Janette had a gift for bringing community-based businesses into partnership with TVHS, beautifully marrying two of her passions: supporting local history and celebrating our local business community.
