Sale, Publication, and Loan of
Photographs and Images
[Collections Management Policy Supplement]

1. Purchasing Photographs and Images
Prints may be purchased for private or scholarly/educational use only. Use is limited to these purposes unless separate written permission is obtained for publication.

Physical Prints:

8" x 10" black and white print: $15 for members, $25 for non-members

Rates are subject to change; prices for additional sizes available upon request
High-Resolution Digital Files:
-
$5 for members, $10 for non-members
Important Notes:
-
A photocopy or digital image may not be further reproduced.

Owning a print or digital copy does not grant publication rights.

Permission to publish must be obtained separately in writing.

Granting permission does not restrict the Society from publishing the material or limit use to a single occasion.

The Society may not hold copyright; securing copyright permissions is the responsibility of the user. The Society is not liable for user actions.

2. Publishing Photographs
Photographs or images (including digital formats) from the collections may be published only with written permissionfrom the Society.

Definition of Publication:

Includes books, journal articles, websites, social media, and other formats

Publication is not allowed until a License Agreement is executed and fees are paid (if applicable)
Publication Fee Schedule:

Scholarly use: No fee

Other museum/historical agency:
-
Members: $30 per photo

Non-members: $50 per photo

Other noncommercial publications:

Members: $30 per photo

Non-members: $50 per photo

Commercial or advertising use:
-
Members: $100 per photo

Non-members: $150 per photo​

Fees also apply if a copy must be made by Society staff (see Section 1)

3. Borrowing Photographs

NO original photographs may be borrowed
-
Copies may be made by Society staff if required
-
All photographs, negatives, and digital copies remain property of the Three Villagee Historical Society

Images may NOT be sold, reused, or reproduced without permission
-
NO markings may be made on photographs for publication
​
4. Policy Changes
The Society reserves the right to amend or change this policy at any time.
