Intern & Volunteer Position Available:
Interactive Education Intern

Overview:

The Three Village Historical Society (TVHS) is looking for a FALL 2023 intern to create a digital component for education-based tours showcasing the history and local environment of the Three Village area.

The intern will work with the Collections Coordinator & Education Coordinator to create an interactive virtual tours with photos, videos and other material to-be digitized.

Intern needs to have a smart phone, a willingness to explore both local history and the environment, and a working knowledge of software such as Canva, YouTube, Wix, Facebook, Instagram, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Other duties and responsibilities include:

  • Help to create and maintain digital material

  • Assist with other department activities as needed

    This is an unpaid position. Student can count hours towards honor society & community service.

Intern or Volunteer Position Available:

Docent 

 

Overview:

The docent provides consistently welcoming, high-quality customer service, assisting guests with Museum admission, event tickets, membership, and gift shop purchases as well as guiding their in-person Museum visit through our two exhibits "Spies! How A Group of  Long Island Patriots Helped George Washington Win the Revolution" and "Chicken Hill: A Community Lost to Time".

 

Commitment is 2 to 12 hours per month. 

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Passion for the Museum’s mission and for local history.

  • Ability to perform reception duties in a welcoming manner.

  • Maintains a positive, professional, guest-centric attitude while handling multiple tasks.

  • Ability to use Point of Sale system.

  • Dependability and organizational skills required.

  • Flexibility to work day time, evenings, weekends, special events and holidays.
