Three Village Historical Society Is Awarded 2021 Young Gardiner Scholar Grant
Setauket, NY - The Three Village Historical Society (TVHS) seeks one (1) Collections Intern to assist with collections storage inventory backlog, research, and processing; artifact handling for internal use; and regular cleaning and maintenance of archival room and artifacts on display at the History Center. This opportunity will allow the intern to gain practical, hands-on experience working directly with the History Center artifacts and to learn proper handling of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artifacts.
The Collections Intern will work with Research Assistant, Education Committee and Creative Director on special projects related to collections and exhibits while learning about the day-to-day operations of managing the History Center.
Current students ages 15-22 interested in the fields of museum studies, public history, history, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Note: This internship position is funded by the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation. The candidate will receive a $1,500 Gardiner Young Scholars stipend after completing 100 hours of service to the Three Village Historical Society. Upon completion of service, the Gardiner Young Scholar will be required to submit a short video presentation documenting their experience.
