Setauket Founders Week: April 8-14, 2010 This year's theme is "Culinary Traditions." Using the murals in the Woodhull Auditorium, the activities will incorporate the history of cooking, growing, processing, transporting, hunting and fishing in the local area. These activities initially provided the foods necessary for survival and progressed to support the economy and the population. Food gathering, storing, preparation and cooking will be demonstrated. Many hands on activities will be included.

Saturday, April 10th, 10:30 a.m. Walk Through History with Abraham Woodhull. In this living history walk you will meet farmer and Revolutionary War Spy Chief Abraham Woodhull, portrayed by historian Beverly Tyler, who leads tour goers on a walk through the nature sanctuary that was once Woodhull's farm. Tour goers are introduced to the woods, fields, ponds and bays that tell the story of Long Island's colonization and settlement preceding the Revolution and the creation of the new nation. Walk lasts 2 1/2 hours and commences at the Caroline Church Carriage Shed (opposite the Setauket Village Green.) Fee: $5.00 per person/ $3 per person for TVHS Members.

Wednesday, April 14th, 7:00 p.m.: Lecture: George Washington's Long Island Spy Ring. Elizabeth Kahn Kaplan will present a Power Point illustrated lecture, "George Washington's Long Island Spy Ring" at the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library, 120 Main Street, Setauket, NY 11733. The lecture coincides with the annual celebration of Founders Day by the library's neighbor, the Setauket School, during the week of April 8th-14th. Co-sponsored by the New York Council for the Humanities, this exciting program is free and open to all.

Monday, April 19th, 6:00 p.m. 23rd Annual Pot Luck Supper held in conjunction with the Setauket Neighborhood House Association. Three Village Historical Society Trustee, Michael O'Dwyer will speak about the Society's Historical House Program. 32nd Annual Candlelight House Tour - Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th. For thirty one years, the Three Village Historical Society has presented its Candlelight House Tour, a spectacular showcase of select local homes decked out in dazzling holiday finery by talented local decorators. The 2009 Candlelight House Tour will take place on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. The tour will feature grand homes replete with stunning architectural features, and customized interior design for the holidays.

All tickets to TVHS sponsored events are non-refundable.
